Frequently asked questions
You start the conversation knowing how it works.
The questions that come up before hiring someone to build custom software, with short answers.
Getting started
You don't need a finished plan before we talk.
I'm not sure what I need yet. Should we still talk?
Yes. Tell us how things work today and what slows you down most. We work out the scope together, and it goes into the proposal.
My situation doesn't match anything on this site. What now?
Tell us how it works today. Custom means the system is built around how you work, not around a template.
I run a solo practice. Isn't custom software too much for me?
It doesn't have to be big. The proposal starts with what you need now, such as a website or scheduling, and the rest can come later, if it makes sense.
I once paid for a system nobody used. How do I avoid that this time?
The system starts with the spreadsheets your team already uses and grows in stages.
Each spreadsheet is imported, and someone on your team reviews it before anything changes.
Price and timeline
The proposal gives you the price and timeline before you decide.
How much does custom software cost?
You get the price in the proposal, after our conversation, with everything that's included. We don't publish a price list because every system is built around a different workflow.
After launch, a monthly maintenance fee covers hosting and keeping the system running. You decide before any work starts.
How long does it take?
It depends on the scope. The timeline is written into the proposal before you sign, along with what's out of scope.
About us
You know who you're working with before you hire us.
Can I see what you've built?
The logo strip on the home page, right below the opening section, shows Keystone clients. The What we do page shows the types of systems we build.
We only publish screenshots, numbers or project details with each client's permission. Your system gets the same confidentiality.
We're not in Brazil. How does a project with you work?
Keystone is a Brazilian company based in Rio de Janeiro. The whole project can be run remotely, from any country. We work in English and Portuguese.
The proposal and the contract can be in English. We bill in US dollars (USD) or euros (EUR).
We meet during your business hours, in US and European time zones.
Maintenance
After launch, we're still responsible for what we built.
How do I know you won't disappear after launch?
We're still responsible for the system after launch. A monthly maintenance fee covers hosting and keeping it running.
You keep talking to the person who built it: Kauã Corrêa, founder and the engineer in charge of the projects.
What if I want to add something once it's done?
The system is built to grow in stages. Anything new goes into the same system, without starting over.
Will my team need to install anything?
No. The systems we build run in the browser.
Confidentiality
Confidentiality and professional rules go into the scope.
I'm bound by client confidentiality. Who can see the data in the system?
Who sees what is decided in the scope, in writing.
Your system can include user roles with masked data, a log of every change and two-factor login: a code required in addition to the password.
My profession has advertising rules. Will the website follow them?
Yes. Tell us in the first conversation which rules apply to your profession, and they go into the scope.
